Well I just finished up my 9th rotation which was my general surgery rotation. Here I am with Nicole O'Neil PA-C, Cindy the MA, and Jana VanAmburg MD. I had such a great time working with these women and I learned a ton from each of them. I also got to work with and learned a lot from Dr. Buzzas and Eric Davis PA-C.
The first day I arrived I went straight to the OR and then that night I was on trauma call so I hit the ground running.
In addition to the adrenaline filled traumas I also got to see and assist with a lot of really neat surgeries. I saw...a parathyroidectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, splenectomy, small bowel resection, lumpectomy for breast cancer, hernia repair, coronary artery bypass graft... and the list goes on. I also got to watch a bunch of colonoscopies and esophagogastroduodenoscopies.
