It was so fun to have my family in town for a little bit last week. We had such a good time. I was sad to see them go. I especially had fun bonding with my cute little nephews Ford and Dock.
Ford was such a good sport about sharing his special day with me...His Birthday was the day I graduated so after sitting through my graduation ceremony and reception we had the real party (his birthday party) at the park. He is such a smart little kid and so dang cute. He calls me "Aunt Sandy" and I love it!
I really enjoyed getting to know Dock too. He is growing up so fast. He gives the greatest hugs and was such a happy kid. We became best friends fast :) I sure do wish those Finlinson's lived a little closer to us.
We made a couple of trips to VooDoo Donuts. Everyone loved their crazy donuts. (except me...I can't bring myself to eat one...yuck)
We ate at one of my favorite food carts, Rip City Grill. We went to Saturdays Market (on Sunday) and got to look at all the cool art.
Pete took us out on Lake Oswego to see what he has been working on. The houses that back up to the lake are amazing!
One of the highlights of last week for me was hiking the Oneonta Gorge. Pete and I did it 2 years ago and ever since then my mom has been talking about how fun it sounded.
Before the hike really even starts you have to cross this little stream that is about an inch deep. Paige slipped on a rock walking across and almost fell in the water. That gave my mom the giggles which made her slip on a rock and she really did fall in. It was so funny...but I guess you probably had to be there. Now she tells me she has some pretty good size bruises. After that I was worried the whole time that someone was going to get hurt but everyone made it out just fine. The hardest part of the hike was right at the start where you have to climb over a 15-20 foot pile of drift wood.
From there as you hike back into the gorge the walls narrow in and pretty soon you are waist deep in water. Luckily it was a hot day so the cold water felt good. Then at the back of the gorge is a cute little water fall. We all had a great time.

I was so Glad that everyone came to visit! I hope they get to come again soon! There's still lots of Portland to explore.

First of all, congrats on graduation! That is so exciting.
Also, and I realize I say this every time, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE your hair. I wish I could pull that off. You look way cute.
They are good size bruises, but she'll live :) I know everybody had so much fun up there. Paige LOVED Portland. I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up there someday. Miss you guys!
I'm so glad your family got to come out and explore Portland! You guys are experts now :-) Oneonta is my family's favorite- so fun (except the bruises). So are you two there for good or what?? When we come out for Christmas and if you aren't traveling somewhere else we'll have to hook up!!
