Squamish

We went to Squamish this weekend. We got there early Friday morning around 2am and ended up sleeping in the back of our Subaru. After catching up on some sleep we headed over to the Sheriff's Badge on the Chief. We got on the wrong trail and ended up having to traversing the base of all of the north walls - only Americans would be tripped up by mileage posted as kilometers. We got on Border Line/Blazing Saddles, a cool 2 pitch (well 4 if you don't link pitches) climb with an amazing hand crack and roof to end.

Pete on Blazing Saddles. Later that day we napped and did some lazy cragging at the Smoke Bluffs and Murrin Park. The next day we woke up late and headed over to the Smoke Bluffs again to do the Smoke Bluff connection, which is a link up of 4 classic cracks. We got stuck behind a very slow party of 3 so we just took our time and enjoyed ourselves (luckily there are really good ledges at each pitch), but we did finish in the full sun which was not very fun. By the time we got off the wall we figured we had better go swimming so we headed over to the aquatic center, Yosemite would be much cooler with an aquatic center! Later that evening we went and did more cragging at Murrin Park.

The next day we woke up early and climbed the 5 pitches of Snake on the Apron. Here is Sandy working through a cruxy traverse section (the feet are much worse than the look).

Squamish!

I love finding bloggers I actually know! We'd love to see you two again--summer just gets so crazy, but now that fall is coming (not that the 90-degree weather is aware) we'll have to get together!
